What is this service?
This service enables you to register to receive emails for certain sports events. For soccer, when goals are scored, at half time and at full time you will receive an email with the current score.

Why would I want this?
Spend too much time out and about on a match day wondering what the scores are?. Keep up to date with both your own team and other teams that affect your teams position.

Going to a game? Just log in and make a note of other teams scores you want to keep up with whilst you're at the game.

What addresses can I use?
Currently just email addresses. You can use multiple addresses. Each one will need to be validated. When you initially register for the service, the email address you use may then be used to receive scores.

You may add additional addresses using the option "Add an email address". These addresses must be validated. An email is sent to the address you enter and you must reply to this email. The subject line must be included in the reply. Once you have replied the new email address will be available to send scores to.

Where do the results come from?
Good question.

Why do I miss some results?
You may miss goals. Two goals in quick succession might mean you get a single email for them both.

Some of the feeds this site uses are not always available and there may be occasional times when results are not received.

Do you sell email addresses?
No. Nor do we provide them to any other entity.

What is the cost?
The service is currently free. However we are not responsible for any charges that other providers or operators may charge. You are. For example if you pay to receive emails to your mobile phone.

What about SMS?
Coming soon. If you know of an inexpensive (or free) SMS gateway let us know.

Are other emails sent to my email address?
You may receive emails at the address you used to sign up for the service. These will only relate to information about this service and this will be infrequent. No emails will be sent to other addresses that you subsequently add.

How often are emails sent?
Generally within a couple of minutes.

Wireless Services
Typically you can have emails sent to your mobile phone however you may have to pay a charge for them. You may not be able to send emails depending upon your service. If this is the case then you will not be able to register your mobile's email address - in which case send and email to webmaster@givemethescore.com and we'll register it for you.

For Cingular, email address are <phone_number>@mobile.mycingular.net

For Sprint, email addresses are <phone_number>@messaging.sprintpcs.com
